Trump Weighs Rally After Concert Dropouts for US Anniversary Event
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he was reviewing the possibility of holding what he described as an “AMERICA IS BACK” rally in Washington, D.C., at the same time and location originally scheduled for the concerts.
He characterized himself in strong terms, saying he attracts exceptionally large crowds.
“I am the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World, the man who gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime and he does so without a guitar,” he said.
He added that he had instructed his representatives to evaluate the feasibility of staging the rally, describing it as a major patriotic gathering.
“I am ordering my Representatives to look at the feasibility of doing an AMERICA IS BACK Rally on Wednesday, Washington, D.C., same time, same location. Only Great Patriots invited — It will be a Wild and Beautiful Celebration of America,” he said.
According to reports, roughly two-thirds of performers initially announced for the “Freedom 250” concert series have withdrawn. Many of the departures were linked to concerns about being associated with an event increasingly viewed as politically aligned, despite being promoted as nonpartisan.
The shift comes as the anniversary programming faces growing controversy, with critics and artists expressing concerns about political polarization, according to reports.
